This little nug is the first book in our new series featuring Detective Charlie Winters. We really wanted to write a fun, exciting thriller that is jam-packed with laughs, tense sneaking-around style sequences, and twists. First Girl Gone is it.

It thrills. It chills. It twirls glowsticks right in your face.

The book will go up to full price within the next couple days, so grab it now:

Wanna take a trip down memory lane? Here’s how we originally pitched the series when Bookouture reached out to us in early 2019:

When two teenage girls go missing on tiny Salem Island, the townspeople verge on panic. Things like this aren’t supposed to happen here.

Private Detective Charlotte Winters (AKA Charlie) gets swept up in the search. She makes it her business to shine a light into the shadowy places of her little town often — a habit that doesn’t make her so popular with the locals — but this case is different.

All the clues keep leading Charlie back to a loose end in her own life — the 17-year-old case of her twin sister’s murder.

Charlie’s dead twin, Allie, however, also serves as her sidekick — she’s a voice in Charlie’s head. Twist!

Where Charlie is rational, guarded, and generally the strong silent type, Allie is impulsive, aggressively opinionated, and ruled by passion. It’s a voice Charlie sometimes thinks is merely her own imagination and other times believes is really her sister speaking to her.

It has some noir and psychological elements, but above all, it’s a pulse-pounding thriller with twists and shocks along the way.

Enthusiasm! Twirling glowsticks! Wait. Already did that.

Well, shit. I guess that’s it.

For real, though, we’re so excited for this book to finally get out there. We’re drunk on launch day energy. And also a lot of booze.

We can’t wait to hear what you think of this one. Let us know.

That’s all for now. We’ll have more news soon.
