What’s the deal with the wacky numbering system of this series?
Our premise when we started writing was to have shorter books of 100-200 pages (those ending in a “.5”) interspersed with longer works of 500+ pages (titles with whole numbers). We wanted this to be an epic series, but writing epic lengths takes a long time, so offering the shorter books was our attempt at striking a balance. 

What order should I read the books?
The books should be read in numerical order: Book 0.5, Book 1, Book 1.5, etc. However, some people have read Book 0.5 after Book 1 and said they prefer it that way.

Does that mean I can skip the “.5” books? 
I wouldn’t recommend it. These are not “one-off” episodes that don’t correspond to the rest of the series as a whole. Every short book either introduces a new and important character, checks in with an existing character, and/or tells the backstory of an existing character.
